Lucknow | Acting on the directions of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Hazratganj police carried out a special enforcement drive against unauthorized auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws operating without valid documents, without verification, and in prohibited zones.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of ACP Vikas Jaiswal. During the drive, all outpost in-charges of the Hazratganj police station jointly participated and checked vehicles across the area.
As part of the action, a total of 51 e-rickshaws were seized for violations, while 98 vehicles were issued challans for flouting traffic rules and operating illegally. Police officials stated that many of the vehicles were being run without proper registration papers and mandatory verification, posing serious safety and law-and-order concerns.
Police authorities clarified that such drives will continue in the coming days to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations and to maintain public safety in busy and restricted areas of the city.
